About the Vegan Expo
Originally launched in 2007 as the Vegetarian Expo in Christchurch, this inspiring annual food and lifestyle event has continued to demonstrate growth and popularity for the past 16 years and is now held nationally.
Helpful FAQs
Haere-Roa is at 90 Ilam Rd, on the University of Canterbury campus.
By bus: The Purple Line (Airport to Sumner) and 100 (Wigram to The Palms via Riccarton) both go past Haere-Roa on Ilam Rd.
If using The Orbiter or the Yellow Line (New Brighton to Rolleston) – get off on Riccarton Rd near Ilam Rd and walk north or ge off on Waimari Rd near Rountree St or Homestead Lane and walk east to Ilam Rd.
Yes. If you have not pre-ordered your tickets and you can pay cash on the door.
Yes, including cash withdrawals. Please note there is a $2 charge. We recommend that you bring cash on the day. Some stallholders will have their own Eftpos machines for purchases made at their stalls.
Yes and yes! There is a large car park but subject to availability. We recommend using public transport, biking or car-pooling. Disability parking is available.

Seats are on a first come basis however if you have a particular need (wheelchair, hearing impaired or other condition needing special consideration) please contact us as early as possible and at least 48 hours before the event. Explain what accommodation you need, which talk/cookery demo you wish to attend and we will do our best to assist you.
Yes. Wheelchair accessibility is throughout the venue including the toilets. Please ask any of our volunteer members if you need assistance.
