Whangarei’s Vegan Expo

25 November 2018

Mark it on your calendar!

Here in Whangarei, we launched New Zealand’s first Vegan Expo in 2016 which was a huge success.

In 2017, Whangarei Mayor Sheryl Mai attended and cut the silverbeet (yes, really!) to open the Expo! The crowd numbered over 1,500 and well exceeded numbers of the year before.

Interest is constantly on the rise and people go home having enjoyed the food, speakers and atmosphere. It’s inspiring! Come to the 2018 Vegan Expo and be thrilled to pieces. Our lovely Mayor will be opening the Expo again.

The expo is perfect for those who are curious to learn more about cruelty-free alternatives to meat, eggs and dairy products, as well as vegetarians, vegans and allergy sufferers.  And, of course, the alternatives offered are environmentally much more friendly!

“After all the information I gathered about the mistreatment of animals, I couldn’t continue to eat meat.  The more I was aware of, the harder and harder it was to do.”

About the Vegan Expo

Whangarei held their first Vegan Expo in 2016 and was greatly inspired by the Christchurch Expo which has been held for over ten years now. We are excited to continue to spread the news of this great diet and lifestyle by holding our annual Vegan Expo in Whangarei.
