Walnut loaf

  • 1/2 cup Bulgur wheat
  • 1 cup water
  • 1-2 T soy sauce
  • 1 med onion, dice
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 t sage
  • 2 T oil or water
  • 1/4 t Marjoram
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup rolled oats


  1. In a saucepan simmer first three ingredients until water is absorbed.
  2. Saute onion, garlic, sage, oil and marjoram together.
  3. Blend in blender walnuts, salt, and water together.
  4. Mix ingredients together.
  5. Bake in flat casserole dish for 1 hour at 180c
  6. Yield: 6-8 servings.
  7. To make gluten free replace Bulgur wheat with 1 1/4 c cooked short brown rice and leave out the first cup of water.
