Walnut loaf
Cooking demonstrator: Angela Hurley (Autumn Leaves)
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Bulgur wheat
- 1 cup water
- 1-2 T soy sauce
- 1 med onion, dice
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1/2 t sage
- 2 T oil or water
- 1/4 t Marjoram
- 1 cup walnuts
- 1 t salt
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup rolled oats
Instructions
- In a saucepan simmer first three ingredients until water is absorbed.
- Saute onion, garlic, sage, oil and marjoram together.
- Blend in blender walnuts, salt, and water together.
- Mix ingredients together.
- Bake in flat casserole dish for 1 hour at 180c
- Yield: 6-8 servings.
- To make gluten free replace Bulgur wheat with 1 1/4 c cooked short brown rice and leave out the first cup of water.
